Letter Practice

My aunt Jenny is a school teacher. She was talking to Mommy about what I should know by the time I go to school. So when we got home we started practicing my letters. Here I am tracing "B's" that my mommy made.

Back Home

After another long van ride and hotel stay we arrived back home in Orlando. Mommy, Elijah and I went to get Elijah's hair cut. He got to sit in a dora truck while the lady cut his hair. He moved around alot and took off the cape, so he had hair everywhere, but he looks pretty nice now.

Michigan Highlights

Gramma did a nice job of saving many of my mommy and aunt jenny's toys. It's always fun to find them and play. I liked using the little baby high chair, and we found lots of other cool things to play with. It was nice to have Aunt Jenny there for a few days. She read to us and we played. I got to paint some more cookies (with icing, not paint) and use sprinkles. We also went to see lots of Christmas lights at the fairground! Elijah loved climbing up and down in the little rocking chair. He only tipped over a few times.

Snow

We got over a foot of snow while in Michigan. Grandpa had to get out the big tractor to plow the driveway. Elijah even took a ride but I didn't want to. Daddy had to clear off the van. It was so much fun!

Arriving in Michigan

The day after Christmas we got back in the van and drove through Canada to Michigan. It was very foggy, but little traffic, until we got the bridge into Michigan. We were so happy to arrive at Grandpa and Gramma's house! They laughed at Elijah since he likes to travel barefoot. We got to open more presents, I got a bunch of dress up clothes so I can look like a princess. Elijah got some cool things too! The next day we got to see more family. (And more presents!) I got some great books and my future uncle even read one to me.

Christmas Day

On Christmas day we decided to go to Niagara Falls. (It's just a few minutes away from Opa & Oma's. It was cold, but fun. There was a thin layer of ice that I could stomp through on the snow. Then we went over to Canada since it was free that day and rode the big ferris wheel! It was heated and we went up so high. They were not very busy so they let us go around a few times extra. They let us back into the United States and then we had Christmas Dinner.

What up, homies?

Here I am styling and trying to make a phone call. Dad got smart and unplugged the phone, I'll have to see if I can figure out something else!

Christmas Eve

We had to take pictures in our Christmas outfits. On Christmas Eve Aunt Michelle, Uncle Peter and cousin Eliot came over to Opa and Oma's. We had dinner and then opened presents! It was fun. Eliot got this remote controlled car that we all wanted to play with. Then we had dessert. Oma had lots of stuff we wanted to try. Afterward we went to a candlelight service. We spent a lot of the time in the hallway because we couldn't sit still. Afterward we said hello to lots of family and friends. I really liked being at the church and threw a tantrum when we left.

Visiting Cousin Eliot

While we were up north we also visited our only cousin Eliot. Eliot really likes trains (especially Thomas the Tank Engine) Uncle Peter helped us set up a giant train track all over the living room. Elijah was kinda like a baby Godzilla. We also went just down the street from my cousin where they have the Fisher Price headquarters. They had lots of Christmas decorations out, including huge toys that are actually parade floats. We also went into the toy museum and looked around and played, and saw Santa. Oh and we got to try and pet some of Eliot's cats.

Open Shut them

Elijah: I discovered a great way to entertain myself for several minutes at a time. It was this little TV stand that had doors that shut with magnets. I loved to open and shut them over and over.

At Opa and Oma's

We had lots of fun at Opa and Oma's house. I loved playing in the snow. Our cousin Eliot came and played with us too. We also liked visiting with the neighbors dog Buddy. And of course we all really liked playing on the computer with Opa. He had some sing-a-long games and some coloring stuff. I did pretty well moving the mouse and clicking where I wanted to go. We really loved visiting!

Road Trip

For Christmas we traveled very very far to go to visit our Opa and Oma in Grand Island, New York. It got colder and colder as we went. We stayed one night in a hotel and I (Mikayla) got my very own big bed. I loved seeing the snow. Elijah looked really cute but had a hard time moving and couldn't pick up anything. We drove over a really tall bridge in West Virginia.
