Parade

I think my parents are using me to get free stuff. We went to this cool Christmas parade downtown where we saw fire trucks, motorcycles, big and little horses and lots and lots of dogs. I got beads and a bunch of candy! (Not that mom or dad will let me taste any of the candy that people threw to ME!) The mayor even waved at us and one of the city commissioners said I was cute. Our neighbors got to be in the parade, so I waved at them.

Saturday

I decided I better show my grandparents all my favorite spots, plus I wanted to take a bike ride. So Saturday afternoon we all hopped on bikes (except me, I was strapped into my chariot) and we went to this little park. We got to swing, and they made me go down the slide a few times. Have I mentioned that I really don't like slides? And I had my cool sneakers on so I could walk around. Then we went to Pei Wei restaurant which I first went to in Albequirky with my boyfriend E.J. (I think that was basically a chaperoned date, BTW). I flirted with the waiter and other people in the restaurant, and sampled some of the food, good stuff. Later we went to church (yes on a saturday night) and after the service, (and way past my bedtime by the way) they had a dedication ceremony for me and some other babies.

Turkey Day

Today was the two-days-after-my-birthday feast--Thanksgiving. Gramma put a big bird into the oven this morning and then we waited a long time (I actually took a 3 hour nap). Then mom got me up when it was time to eat. I had turkey and mashed potatos, stuffing, beans, cheese and even a little cranberry sauce. Yum! The turkey coma (which dad says is a myth) hit me hard and I took another long nap.

1st Birthday

Wow what a birthday! I'd like to say thank you to Opa & Oma, Great Grandma June, Great Aunt Sue & Marcia, Uncle Peter and Aunt Michelle & cousin Eliot, Aunt Jenny, Mrs. Cheri and grampa and gramma for their birthday gifts. Yesterday started out pretty normal, I got up and ate breakfast with gramma, but when mom and dad came out the fun began. They had a pile of stuff all for me! A few clothes, a pair of shoes, toys, a book and a few fuzzy friends. Then dad went out to the garage and brought back in a house! Wow, I hit the motherlode! I had fun playing for a little while, but mom wanted me to take a nap. I refused, so we packed up the van and headed to Disney. We went to Disney/MGM Studios and I got to see the Little Mermaid, fast stunt cars, explosions, and milllliooons of Christmas lights. Oh, and they slid me down a giant leaf. My favorite was going to the Disney playhouse where I saw the big bear and other friends; I clapped and danced. Of course, I fell asleep on the way home (I only had a 20 min. catnap all day), but all in all it was the best birthday I've had.

Sunday

Yesterday, after church and a nap we headed out to our normal weekend activity, going to an art festival. (This is the 3rd week in a row we've gone to one!) It was fun, but a little rainy. Grampa pushed me all over in my stroller. Then mom and dad wanted to show gramma and grampa this cool hotel nearby. We were in the car for awhile, but finally got there. It's called the Gaylord Palms. It's got this giant glass enclosed atrium with trees and a boat and stuff inside. You can see us posing by this big fish. Dad managed to sneak in a few photos but it wasn't like the papparazzi the other day. One day left to my birthday. Three days till turkey day!

G-Day

Last night I had the strangest dream that gramma and grampa were holding me and our couch was a bed! But when I woke up this morning the dream was true, gramma and grampa are here! Today must have been designated as picture day--wow, did they take a lot of pictures! I was in my little red dress, but I wasn't being too cooperative with smiling. Then, since my parents had only taken like 100 photos, we drove down the street and dressed me up and were taking more pictures. Later we went to Wally World again, and I was trying to get up off the seat so mom finally put me in the cart where I could stand, it was awesome! Tomorrow I get to show gramma and grampa my church. Should be fun, but no more photos please.

7th toof

After many months enjoying my 6 teeth I decided to add another to my mouth. I now have a 7th tooth, its on the bottom. I continue to take a few steps at a time on my own as my birthday and the arrival of my grandparents is coming soon. I heard mom and dad talking about maybe going to Disney for my birthday and I want to be able to run around there, not be confined to a stroller all day. I mean I'm so cute Mickey might want to take a walk with me! New discoveries this week: I like beef (it's what for dinner), I can maneuver out of the seatbelt they have on shopping carts and stand up, and I can undo velcro shoes and set my feet free. Just three more days and I get to see gramma and grampa! I'm so excited to show them all I can do. Oh, and a shout out to great-gramma june--happy birthday!

The good life

Dad decided to trim the bushes in our backyard, so mom brought out our little tent shell so we could enjoy the beautiful day!

To celebrate the big red van's one-week birthday with us we took out the back seat and put in our bikes--including my chariot. We went to the Little Econ Trail. It was pretty fun! Mom and dad rode about 10 miles, and I just got comfortable and chilled out. People smiled as we passed--boy, am I popular. Afterward we went to Sam's and got enough diapers to last me until 2006! Mom looked at turkeys but we didn't get one yet. They said I'm their little butterball :)

Walking

I love to walk, as long as I'm holding on to my trike or some other form of support. Mom and dad keep trying to get me to step out on my own, but have you seen how far it is to the ground? However, I got distracted the other day...mom was holding a really pretty dress of mine and I wanted to touch it and all of a sudden mom is like, squealing that I took two steps on my own! I know they are just hoping to have me walking around by the time gramma and grampa come. We'll see.

Hangin'

I love using mom or dad like they are my personal jungle gym. And I do like hanging upside down--I mean, how cool does my hair look?! There are actually several photos from different days of me upside down. I've decided (at least for this week, and maybe even next) that when I grow up I want to be a monkey (all the bananas I can eat and no one will care if I smear food all over my face, and hands, and in my hair).

Cravings

There are a few things mom can do that make make me come crawling like a moth to a porch light. Opening the dishwasher (have I told you how I got my hands on a knife one day for a second?... boy, that scared mom--I was fine, no toes lost...) and opening the fridge. I love looking at all the bottles of stuff, and trying to grab whatever looks tasty, or at least interesting. My mom says it's one more thing our old cat taught me. I'm just making sure all my favorites are there... strawberries, yogurt, pears... One day when mom's not looking I'm gonna find all the vegetables and throw them in the trash!

The big red van

I must have done something really good today, 'cause I got the biggest present ever... a big red van. It's shiny, and has tinted windows (like the van is wearing sunglasses) and it has lots of room--for future toys mom will buy me. I'm gonna let mom and dad chauffer me around for awhile since I can't reach the pedals and see out the window at the same time.
Just two more weeks and we'll pick up grampa and gramma at the airport in my cool ride.

Little Fairy

Yesterday was my first Halloween. Mom and Dad got me these cool fairy wings and put my hair in pigtails for the occasion. We then went to "FamJam" at our church. They had advertised fun, outrageous amounts of candy and wild baby animals. Lots of people were dressed up, there were actually a lot of other fairies. I got a flower painted on my face (and sat very still, I might proudly add). Oh and I got to see a real baby tiger, but I held on tight to mom so it wouldn't eat me. Mom and dad won't let me eat the candy I got--I don't know if that's fair, but they put it out of my reach. So if you wanna send me any candy make sure it's unlabeled, or better yet label it vegetables (mom always wants me to eat my veggies).

Elvis is Alive

The weather got cooler and out came the leisure suits. Mom said this outfit reminded her of Elvis. Hey, it got me a harmonica to drool on, so I'm not complaining.
