yo, whatz up?

Here I am just chillin' in my sweet ride watching my sistah climb on the neighbor's swingset. Dad put my hat on straight, but I created this look all by myself. I wonder if mommy or dad got any cool toys for me when they went out shopping so early...I need some bling...

Giving thanks

Mikayla: How do you get 5 little kids to sit for a portrait? Like this. Yesterday we went to a Thanksgiving feast at my friend Charis' house. There were lots of people, and good food (not that I ate any of it). We had fun, and I almost managed to go outside unsupervised. I'm glad we got to spend the day after my birthday with such nice friends.

Happy Birthday to Me!

As you can see I did get lots of good stuff for my birthday. Daddy took me to the store to get a few things for tomorrow, and we went to the pet store to see the cute animals. When we got home mom had the coffee table all set with my presents. Thank you Opa, Oma, Grandpa & Gramma for all the great stuff. I had to go try out my bike and helmet hat. I also wore my boots out to dinner.

Open door!

Today is my birthday. It started out like any other day, I saw Barney and George Monkey and went to library time. They even celebrated Barney's birthday on the show. Oma and Opa called me. Oh and I helped mommy make some pumpkin pies. Mommy put the pies in the oven and went outside real quick to put some cans in recycling. I saw my chance to make the day more interesting and took it. I shut the door, cause it was cold out, and decided I'd better lock it. I didn't know that mommy didn't have a key! Mommy had to go to the neighbors to call daddy and have him come home to open the door. The neighbors tried to see if they could open a door or window, but they couldn't. They kept saying I should open the door, so I said "Open door!" really loud, but nothing happened. They even offered me candy to open the door, but I didn't know how. Daddy came home and opened the house. I got a piece of candy and a stuffed animal from the neighbors. My first presents of the day!

Comparison

Who's who here? Can you tell?

Twenty-teen

Numbers are fun, I like to count one, two, one two. After two I just improvise on the order. I think my favorite number right now is twenty-teen.

birthday suit

Wednesday is my birthday. We have been talking alot about birthdays, birthday cakes, birthday presents... so I decided to show off my birthday suit. When dad came in after my nap time I was totally naked. I was also inspired by Elmo's world today he talked about skin, which I decided to show off. Dad thought it was more important to see if I had left any of my own presents instead of taking a photo. I did pee on the bed... my potty chair was in the bathroom. What does modesty mean? I heard mom and dad talking about how they need to teach me about that, maybe Elmo will do a show about it.

"mini dave?"

Elijah: Why does everyone keep calling me mini dave? Daddy says it's like he is looking at old pictures of himself. Does anyone else see it?

Birthday Party

Mikayla: Mom and Dad told me that I turn two the day before Thanksgiving. So, today we had a birthday party for me in the park with a few of my little friends and their parents. We had lots of fun on the playground, hanging around and sliding. We also made hats with our names on them; I got the red one! Mom made mini cupcakes for us kids (I only ate the frosting off mine, just like Great-aunt Sue would do). Thanks to all my friends for coming! There were some big sandhill cranes who wanted to get some food but we wouldn't let them. It was fun, fun, fun! Let's do this every Saturday!

moms new rule

Mikayla: Mom has decided that if I am out of sight and quiet I should be checked on. This came after I saw the opportunity and got into Elijah's diaper bag, opened the wipes and pulled several out. Mom decided since they were out and I like to clean that I could wipe the front of the oven and dishwasher with them, a job I did enjoy. Grandma found us a snowsuit and winter coat, so mom got out my hat and mittens to try on. I am getting ready to go up to Michigan where it is cold.

Accessorizing

Mikayla: Yesterday we went to Downtown Disney to the art festival there. We looked at lots of paintings and sculptures, and lots of people looked at me as I went by in my squeaky shoes. People were also coloring on the sidewalk; it was pretty cool. We went to the LEGO store there where they were handing out free hats. They didn't have one small enough for Elijah. Oh and I went to McDonald's for the first time, yummy.

Noggin

Mom and Dad say I have a big noggin. What do you think? What's a noggin?

Jumping on the bed

Last night I had fun singing with mom and dad. We were singing the song about monkeys jumping on the bed. I really impressed mom and dad by saying; "no monkeys jump on the bed." So of course I had to say it over and over again, that night I dreamed of monkeys jumping on the bed.

Helping Mommy

I love to help mommy. Here we are in the kitchen shredding carrots and zucchini to put in the veggie lasagna. We are making it for my friend Charis and her parents, cause her mom has to stay in bed to wait for their new baby. I had lots of fun helping mommy, but I didn't do too well when she told me to not touch. Maybe I will be able to make mommy breakfast in bed by next Mother's Day.

Monkey!

Mikayla: Last night we went to FamJam at our church. There were lots of kids in costumes and their parents there. I got another balloon dog, lots of candy, played some games, got my face painted... and saw some cool animals! Mom was right when she said they might have a monkey there. I don't think he was as cool as Curious George. Here are me and dad petting a rodent that's related to the guinea pig and found in South America.

Cow

Adorable or just plain silly? I look forward to when I can pick out what I will wear. Daddy dressed me up for going to Fam Jam at church. I slept through most of it but heard about them having a real lion, not just a little kid dressed like one.

Cowgirl practice

Mikayla: Here I am dancing with my cowgirl hat on. (The neighbor had his radio on and I couldn't resist). Of course, I refused to wear the hat with the rest of my cowgirl outfit when we went to Fam Jam at church.
