Why?

Why is mommy's belly so big? Why does she want me to kiss her belly and keeps calling it baby? Why did mommy and daddy laugh when I pointed to daddy's belly and said baby? Why do they call the play room the baby's room? Why are there a bunch of non-pink clothes in the other room? Why did daddy get my baby car seat down from the attic? What is all this talk about baby brother? I'm so confused.

Sick Day

Yesterday I woke up and felt really warm. I was not hungry and my body was achy. Daddy stayed home to help and I spent most of the day cuddling with him while watching Elmo and Bear (in the big blue house). We even went to the doctor, and I cried. The doctor said I had a virus and would feel better soon. I think mommy knew I would be sick, cause the day before she let me get an Elmo video from the library that talked about Elmo visiting the doctor. (What else does she know?!) When I woke up today I felt much better and ate some food for breakfast. I bravely sent daddy to work and said many "byes" to him. (I'm still hoping that I will get to taste some of the Gatorade that mommy bought for me.) She told me Gatorade was developed right here in Florida for a football team.

Hunger strike

Today is the first day of summer. (Even though it's been hot here for awhile.) In order to get rid of my belly I have gone on a hunger strike. I have not been eating hardly anything except milk, crackers and an occasional blueberry. (And I've been excercising too.) Mommy says she likes my belly and wants me to eat. Tonight I think I pleased mommy and daddy as I ate a bunch of potato and a few pieces of pork. (That should hold me over for a few days.)

Dancing fool

I like to dance. I can now reach up and turn on the radio so I can have music any time I want. I move my feet and my arms, and sometimes I shake my bottom. I like when cars have their music really loud so I can bop along in my car seat. Sometimes daddy picks me up to dance which is really fun. Someday I will teach my little brother to dance too.

Father's Day

Sunday was a special day for daddies. Mommy and I got Daddy a card to tell him how special he is and we got him a book with songs he could play on his guitar. I want to help him play music. Later we went out for Chinese food. I got to sit in a booster seat instead of a high chair. I loved it and climbed all over the booth we sat in. I didn't eat anything, but looked around a lot. I did eat the fortune cookie. Mommy liked her fortune, it said: "put up with small annoyances to gain great results." What does that mean anyway?

Pool Time

Friday was really hot. Me and mommy stayed in the house until after dinner. She put some water in my little pool. Then we had some fun. Daddy even borrowed the neighbors little slide for me. I went down it several times, but it was too slippery to climb up. Then I had little goose bumps so mom brought me my robe.

More words

I'm still working hard on my vocabulary. I heard about the national spelling bee on tv last week, maybe Daddy will help me train for that some day. Here are a few words I've added over the past week.
Boo-bees (blueberries-currently my favorite food!)
Co-clk (clock)
Face
Fee (feet)
Bebe (baby- I point at mommy's belly, but I'm not sure why)
Moon (spoon, fork)
Melmo (Elmo-I love to watch him on TV)
Keys
Babbe (Barney)
Al Da (all done)
Peas (please)
Da (down)
Poo pee (I've starting letting mommy know when I have pooped)
Toto (potato)
Brefees (breakfast)

Little Girl vs Baby

Here I am guarding the milk at Sam's Club. It's my beverage of choice! (Juice is good too.) I seem to be in a funny phase: I miss my pacifier, and mom wants to make diapers a thing of the past, but there are some big little girl things I love doing. I love eating with silverware! It's so much fun eating with a fork or a spoon, sometimes mom and dad trick me into eating more because I'm so excited to practice using utensils. I love helping mommy make dinner. She gets out the stepstool and lets me watch, or help scoop things in. The other day I dropped about half the rice on the floor that was meant for the soup. Oh and I love keys and sitting in the driver's seat of cars.

Pacifier free

It has now been a week since I sucked on my pacifier. I miss it a lot. I still look under my crib to see if there are any down there, but nothing. I can cope pretty well for naps, but I miss it when I go night-night. Mommy and Daddy said I didn't need it anymore and it might mess up my teeth. Daddy said that Opa would be very proud of me. Next project is to make sure I can say Opa, Oma, Gramma & Grampa by the time they visit in August.
