My big blue ball

This is my big blue ball (b.b.b.). Dad says I could fit inside it, but I can't find the opening. Before bed I decided to give the ball a tour of our house (so it would know it's way around once I went to bed). I pushed it down the hall and back, then into the entryway and toward the window into the garage (the former kitty door, even through b.b.b. is to big to fit through the hole). Then I pushed it under the dining room table, but we didn't find any food crumbs, cause we never eat out there, and finally we went to the living room. After that I was pretty tired, so I said goodnight, got a bottle of the good stuff from mom and went to my room. I didn't show the ball my room (he's too big to share my crib with) so hopefully he had fun with my parents.

Ma & Mi

This is my friend Makayla. Funny huh? She was the first baby I met at church--I was kinda confused, I thought maybe all babies had the same name. Now we get to play together every week while our parents talk. It's fun that they picked a small group that had someone who was only a month older than me. When she claps, I clap, when she waves I wave, it's so entertaining. She's tries to steal my pacifier sometimes, but I think she just wants me to talk to her.

Waterlogged

This weekend mom and dad took me to a water park. (They got a free ticket in the mail, and since I'm so small and cute, I was free, too.) I was a little hesitant. There was this big pool and waves would come and I would just cling to mommy, I didn't want to get swept away. I was too short to go on any of the big slides, but I did enjoy the lazy river. I was on dad's belly, and almost went to sleep. Later in the day I played in another pool, which was a little bit scary, but I didn't cry. I prefer a small warm bubble bath to the big park. Maybe it will be more fun once I can ride on the slides with dad. Mom & dad's friends, Mike and Caryn, came with us. Mom and dad even went snorkling there with real sharks, I watched them from dry land, no salt water for me thank you. I did enjoy when it rained for a little bit; I tried to get a drink. Mom and dad and their friends had pizza when they got home, but they wouldn't give me any. I enjoyed my bottle and zonked out. It was a long day, and I didn't take an afternoon nap.

Hello Sue

Just wanted to give a shout out to my great aunt Sue and all the ladies that she works with. Thanks for reading my blog, glad you like it. It's fun to keep people posted on my adventures, since mom says I can't talk to people on the phone yet. Love you. MJ

Having a ball!

Today I went swimming. Ok, technically I played in a small wading pool that only had a few inches of water, but it was still good clean fun! It was at my friend Charis' house. She dumped water on my head and we had a good time. I got to wear my cutie bathing suit for the first time. I love the water. (And the balls were fun too, I tried to lick as many as I could.) It's good to be in Florida in the fall.

Bubble bath

Yesterday was my first official bubble bath. Dad wanted to take some photos for this photo challenge about bubbles. I didn't have to sit in the little tub, and I could splash. It was fun, the tub was slippery--I would slowly slide down toward the drain as I splashed.

Mom said I'm reminding her of our old cat Bryce more every day. Bryce told me all the fun things he would do around the house and told me since he is no longer around it was up to me to fill in. So, I look out the front windows for Fred and other lizards, and play with the blinds, I try to get into the fridge, play with toilet paper, look into the toilet, play near the vertical blinds in the family room, chew on lots of stuff, run from the vacuum, even look through the cat door--but I'm too big to go through it. Hey Bryce, let me know if there's anything I'm missing.

My new pet

This morning while I was taking a nap, Mom decided to take a shower. She looked down at the floor and squinted (cause she didn't have her glasses on) and wondered what that little object was in the shower. It was my new pet lizard, Fred! Mom trapped him under a cup and told me that he could be an outdoor pet, and said that he would have lots of friends to play with outside. Isn't he cute? Mom said she's seen cockroaches that are bigger than Fred and she wondered how he got into the shower. I knew I should've gone into the shower this morning while I was near the bathroom, but I got distracted by trying to flush the toilet.

Food Fight

Sometimes mom and I disagree as to what's the best way for me to eat. I like to feel my food, in my hands, hair, on my skin, I even rub it in my eye (applesauce doesn't look any better super close-up.) I want control. I want the spoon. Sometimes I grab for it when mom tries to feed me or I just refuse to open my mouth. Mom says that I can have the spoon when I clean my plate, but what fun is that? She also pointed out that I don't usually get the spoon into my mouth with any food left on it--oh, and she just mopped the floor. (I thought she liked mopping... she can leave the food there, I'll get to it eventually.) So, except for breakfast when I'm just like really hungry, mom and I have 'food fights' as to what and how much I'll eat.

Sharing

Have I mentioned that after my bottle, Cheerios are my favorite food? The other day I decided to share with mom and gave feed her a Cheerio so she could see how good they are. She gets to eat a lot of things so I don't think they are her favorite, which is good, more for me.

I also love my pacifier. I have several of them, and mom comes in and gives me another one when I drop them behind my crib. I was happily sucking tonight and dad was there so I decided to share with him. I put the pacifier in his mouth. He didn't seem to enjoy it as much as I do but was touched by the gesture, wondering where I learned to share.

I think I'll try to share some of my food with mom tomorrow at lunch, maybe if I sneeze it out she'll get to taste some. But don't even think about using my toothbrush!

Weekend Activities

This weekend we visited Bryce, who used to be my older brother, but now lives with a friend of mom and dad. He has soft fur. Mom and Dad promised they would never give me away. I chased Bryce around the apartment where he lives now.

I also got to swing for the first time on a big kid swing set. I loved the feel of the wind through my hair. And I got to ride in my bike chariot again!

Sunday night we went to Panera, where I got to eat some turkey from daddy's sandwhich. We went to surprise my parent's friend Vanessa for her birthday. I couldn't remember the words to "happy birthday" but I looked cute and smiled, so I think that was just as good. (In case you didn't know, you can click on my pictures to see a larger version. With some web browsers, you can click again to make the picture even bigger!)

Toilet Time!

I finally got my chance! I wandered into the bedroom and played innocently with the knobs on the dresser, then when mommy wasn't looking I headed into the bathroom, and joy oh joy the toilet seat was up! I had fun splashing in the water until mommy came in and pulled me away and wiped my hands and face with a wet wipe. She wasn't too excited--and she shut the lid. I was just having fun, I mean the porcelain bowl is the perfect height.

Another milestone?

I think I reached a new milestone today, but mom didn't seem that excited. I flushed the toilet. Now if mom would just leave the lid up so I could play with the water.

Toothbrush

Since I love putting things in my mouth, it's only natural that I love my toothbrush! Mom gives it to me while she brushes her teeth and I go to town. I would brush my teeth for like half an hour if they'd let me. Today I cried when they took my toothbrush away from me. Sometimes I think I'd rather brush my teeth than eat. Pure oral gratification! I can't wait till I have more teeth to brush. Here's to my six pearly whites.

Innocent Heart

Yesterday Mom and Dad took me to a new doctor's office, they had a cool fish tank, we went into a room and they put "stickers" all over my chest and on my legs and arms. Then they attached wires to the stickers, and then took them all off. The doctor listened to my heart, I was really good, I held very still and was quiet. He said I have an innocent heart murmur. Basically there is nothing wrong with my heart, there's just an extra sound there. The doctor said it was pretty common within children and it was nothing to worry about. My mom and dad gave me extra hugs and kisses that day. I thought they'd be willing to give me a treat, so when we went to our friends' house I snuck a pretzel stick. Mom really does see everything, she caught me and took it away! Guess I'll have to wait a little longer before I get salty snacks.

Buongiorno!

Today for Labor Day my parents and I went to Italy. Well, the closest thing in Orlando to Italy--the Portofino Bay Hotel here in Orlando. They made it look like a village in Italy. Mom wanted to go to take photos she can sketch from. We had a fun time walking around the property. There was a car that was just about the right size if I had a booster seat, and of course the scooters were cool. Then we went to an Italian restaurant, just to keep up the illusion of Italy alive a little longer. Have I mentioned how much my mom and dad want to go to Italy? Mom has done a whole bunch of Italy sketches. Here is a link to see them: http://nagyworld.com/personal/italyportfolio.htm

My parents are so strange

Ok, so I need to ask everyone out there about some of my parent's behavior. I don't think its normal, but I don't have too many frames of reference. First the other day while dad had me on the changing table, he put a new diaper over my face, I just laughed and laughed. Diapers don't go there. Then mom decided I needed hydration, and she was gonna get water in me no matter what. She took a spray bottle and squirted it into my mouth, I thought that was pretty cool! Then during bath time she had these little toys that squirted water at me, so I tried to catch it in my mouth. She also let me drink from a big person cup, although then she made me change my shirt cause I leaked a little. So is this normal parental behavior?

Kiss, Kiss

My mom and dad are always kissing and hugging me. Sometimes they do it because gramma or someone else tells them to give me a kiss. So I'm sending out a kiss to all my fans. This is for you gramma, grampa, opa, oma and everyone else, (including my boyfriend ej).

Soon I'll be flirting with people when mom takes me to the store, and I will smile and blow them kisses!

Love Mikayla

Object permanence

I can't believe that a few months ago, in my youthful ignorance, I thought that when I couldn't see mom or dad they didn't exist. If there was something they didn't want me to have, they'd just hide it and I forgot about it. Not any more. I know that when mommy takes away a book- a paper book- it's just up on the table. I know to go chasing after mommy and find out where she is. I know that I have a stockpile of pacifiers under my crib-just wish I could reach them. And I'm starting to suspect that that man with the funny helmet head and motorcycle are my dad. Wow I have a cool dad! Gotta go find that toy mom hid from me.

Toilet Paper

Have I mentioned how much I love paper? I love the feel of it between my fingers, love eating it, yummy (well, trying to). I just discovered the coolest thing in the bathroom, paper on a roll, at my level. Mom told me they are like wet wipes, but on a roll and not wet. I have practiced spinning the toilet paper a few times and sometime soon I hope to see if I can unroll the whole thing. (I can't believe what cool toys my parents have for me.)
