Balloon

Mom and I went to the grocery store today--I needed bananas! People smiled at me, mom even took me down some aisles twice--guess she kept forgetting things. Then the best part was when we went to pay, the nice lady asked if I wanted a balloon. Well of course I did! I got a purple one, and they tied it to my wrist. It was so much fun. Publix: where shopping is a pleasure--yes it is. (Even though mom wouldn't let me suck on the shopping cart.) Later, I got so distracted with playing with my purple balloon that I stood by myself again.

Hats

Monday we stayed inside all day because of the rain and wind and I think mom got a little bored. She went through all my socks and packed away most of them, cause they were too small. Then she decided to go through my hats... and try them on. Even mom and dad tried them on, but they made me promise not to show anyone the photos of them.

Bye-Bye Wilma and more milestones

Wilma is gone...she dumped a bunch of rain on us, and wind, but no damage was done, and we didn't need to use the bag of ice we bought for the freezer. It was fun having dad home during the day--his work was closed. Mom and dad also noticed two new skills that I have: I point at things now, and sometimes I look to see where mom or dad are pointing and don't just look at their fingers. And the big one is mom and dad tricked me into standing on my own! As soon as I realized I wasn't holding on to anything I sat down. One day I'll get them really excited as I take my first steps. Now that Wilma is gone it's cooler here, and I have this stylin' jogging suit on to keep me warm. Mom's excited for me to wear warm-weather outfits. I'm excited to see real snow, but I have to turn one first and eat some turkey (Nov 22nd- save the date in case my parents have a big bash for me).

Wilma

Today we went to church, then came home for a nap. When I got up we went to this cool Italian restaurant. They had paper on the tables--have I mentioned how I love paper? And they even gave me crayons. Mom brought banana and cheese from home and then I had some bread, fish, chicken and pasta off mom and dad's plate. It was sweeeet! Then we went next door to a pet store to look at the animals. They won't let me touch them, but they are fun to look at. Now we are home and my turtle ball pit is in the garage along with a lot of stuff; dad even managed to fit the car in there. It's all 'cause we don't want Wilma to come and mess with our stuff. Guess she doesn't play nice. This will be my first hurricane on the outside. (Mom and dad went through a few of them last year when I was inside mommy.) Mommy is hoping we don't lose power like last year. Daddy is staying home tommorow, they closed work, guess they don't want Wilma there either.

Baby Fat

So Sunday afternoon my parents decided to take in some culture and we went to an art gallery and a mall. We saw some pretty interesting paintings and sculpture. And there was lots to look at in the mall. I had fun, I waved at lots of people and got them to smile at me. My parents would be rich if they got paid every time someone says how cute I am. On a not-so-fun note our car stalled again. It's the only car we have, so I think it stresses my parents when it's not working well.

Monday night we went to a party for the people daddy works with. It was fun, they had the house decorated with lots of pumpkins, and there were other kids there. My friend Devon was there too. However, one of the women picked me up and let me know how much she likes chubby babies. Chubby?! So I decided to step up my physical exertions a bit. I already push some of my toys all around the house, now I'm helping mom rearrange the kitchen, by moving the chairs around. Maybe I should ask mom to switch to low-fat yogurt.

Big spoon

The last several days I decided I had had enough of those little plastic kiddy spoons, I wanted the real thing. So I refused to eat anything from a small spoon, and it worked. Mom gave me mostly finger foods, but then I think she was getting desperate to get some yogurt in me so she gave in and brought out the grown up silverware. Boy is it fun. I smile real big, but then I have to stop so I can actually eat. Persistance really pays off.

New job

Does anyone know how much a bathroom attendant gets paid? You know when you have those really fancy bathrooms and they give you a towel, and you leave a tip. Well I think I could do a good job, I already flush the toilet and get toilet paper for mom. I would get her towels too, but they are up to high. I think I would make good tips, since I'm sooo cute.

Cute Baby

Just a few more weeks and I turn 1! My parent's can't believe how much has happened this year. They used to get so excited when I would lift my head, and they loved my first smiles. I'm so far beyond that now. I wanted to share an earlier photo when I was younger, but still a drama queen.

Balls, Balls, Balls

Ok, so a few weeks ago I went to my friend Charis' house and we had lots of fun playing in her pool full of balls (and a little water). Mom thought I would enjoy a pool of my own, but since it's October now stores are not carrying kiddie pools. But my mom went to some garage sales, and there it was, a plastic turtle sandbox for only $3. She had to tie the trunk of the car down so it wouldn't fly out on the way home! She had been hiding the balls from me (she got them at a garage sale the week before). So today dad washed out the turtle, mom poured in the balls and the fun began. Am I spoiled or what?! Ah, life is good. (Remember, you can click on pictures to see a bigger version.)

My new wheels

Guess mom didn't think I was getting around the house quite fast enough. So she got me this sweet ride! Mom should go to garage sales every weekend. It's pretty cool, I like to push it around, but pretty soon I will learn to ride while pushing with my feet and then it will be: "watch your ankles, because here I come!"

New Shoes

Well, new to me anyway. Another wonderful garage sale find (that seems to be a theme running in my blog these days, since mom has been "garage-saleing" the last few weekends and finding neato stuff. Ha, a theme "running" in my blog--tennis shoes). I think the best part is they have laces instead of velcro, finally my own shoelaces to suck on!

Celery

Mom and dad went to dinner the other night, and of course I came too. (But I ate at home.) The waiter asked if I wanted crayons, but they knew I would just eat them. I was looking around, flirting with those who would smile at me. But then mom gave me a piece of celery. I must say it makes a most excellent chew toy--it kept me entertained while the grown ups ate.

Batty?

Mom says I'm driving her batty, what does that mean? I can't even walk yet, how can I drive? I guess it's cause I'm so curious and want to explore. Like today I found that if you pull a tissue out of the box another one appears, then another, and another, pretty cool. Then the last few days I decided that I really don't want to take naps. Of course I know I'm grumpy at dinner and go to bed early, but I think it's worth it. And then I decided I really like some of my baby clothes, and I don't want to outgrow them, so I'm cutting back on my solid foods (unless it's bananas or Cheerios). Mom says that I can't instant message or read my friend EJ's blog anymore cause I'm getting too many ideas. Guess I'll just have to wait till Grandpa and Gramma come to visit, so I can wrap them around my little finger.

1st Thurs

Thursday was pretty exciting. I got to go with mom to drop off her artwork in the morning. That night we went back to the museum, and wow, there was a bunch of people, and music, and art. I dressed in my most artsy outfit, a leopard print shirt with velour bottoms. Mom was one of the artists, and got to paint a picture while we were there. I didn't get to see her finish it, cause I had to leave--it was my bedtime, but dad assured mom would bring it home for me to see. It was fun to see different people color, and play with clay! I was so proud of my momma. She told me she did this before when I was inside of her. If you wanna see more of her paintings you can go to www.nagyworld.com/portfolio.htm, or stop on by our house. (Just to warn you, she has not painted any pictures of me, cause I won't sit still.)

Tuesday

Remember my b.b.b? Well, I also have a s.p.b. (small pink ball). It has a picture of barbie on it and has a cool texture. Yesterday I gave it a tour of the house. Mom says it looked like I was almost playing soccer, but with my hands, as I'm not walking quite yet. Later dad came home and wasn't feeling too well, and I wasn't either. My nose was runny, making it harder to really enjoy my pacifier. Plus I didn't take an afternoon nap so I was pretty grumpy for dinner. I was put to bed at 6:30, but woke up several more times to see dad again. I don't understand why he was not happy to see me at 12, 3, 5, 6...

Sunday's adventures

This morning we went to church, I of course went to nursery, although I really was clinging to mom when she left me. I made sure to stand at the gate at the door so I could see mom when she came back to get me. Then this afternoon we all went on a bike ride. It was fun, we stopped at a playground and I swung with mom. Riding in my chariot is always fun, breeze in my hair, seeing the neighborhood. For dinner dad made his famous grilled cheese sandwhiches, and I got to taste some! Yummy! But the very best part of the day was bathtime. The tub was filled with bubbles, water and these cool linking ball thingies. I had so much fun, dad stuck them to me, and they made hickies on my skin. After bath time, they put me in big girl pjs (2T) and I was off to dreamland, resting up for another week.

My first birthday party

Now don't get confused, it wasn't my birthday party (although it's coming up soon, mark your calendars--November 22). It was my friends' Andrew and Katelyn's party. They live next door, and were born in the middle of one of the hurricanes last year. Mom put my hair up for the special occasion. It was fun to play with all the kids and I showed everyone how well I eat. At one point Mom offered me Cheerios, asked me to feed myself, so I just brought my mouth to her hand--did she expect me to use my hands?! Later, they put a bunch of us at this little table. I sat between the birthday twins and stole their finger food. But it was getting on toward my bedtime, so I didn't stay there too long. Before I left I got a pointy hat and a balloon! It was fun, but I'm glad we live so close so I could come home and crash...

My cool toy

Today mom left early and I hung out with dad. When she came back she had a laundry basket full of cool stuff. She had some nice sandals for me, a garbage bag full of balls, that she says she'll put into the tub to let me play with, and best of all this intelli-table thing. I like to bang on it, and it makes noises and music. It has fun lights. Thanks, Mom for going to the baby garage sale! She told me she looked up the toys she got me on the internet and she saved a bunch of money. Pretty cool. Mom gets an adventure, baby gets more fun stuff.
