4 months old
Today I had my 4-month check up. They said I looked very healthy. I weigh 17 lbs. 6 oz. (so I have officially doubled my birth weight in 4 months instead of 6.) I am 25 1/2 inches long, so I have gained about an inch a month for height, and my head circumference is in the 90th percentile of all babies-- so, yes, I do have a big noggin. This is me standing with help in my 6-9 month outfit! I got two shots today, but only cried for a few seconds...I knew the thunder thighs were good for something.

New Truck
Elijah: We got mom and dad to give us our Christmas presents early. (They didn't want to lug them up north.) Here is me in one of my many new trucks that mommy found at garage sales. My thighs are almost too big to fit inside. Now Mikayla can dump me anywhere. Of course right now Mikayla is happily playing with all my new toys. I'll make her share once I learn how to crawl. The cuteness conundrum kicked in as mom and dad couldn't pick just one photo to post since I'm so photogenic. (Must be the big noggin.)

bravery & brains
Here is a picture of me practicing my letters. Each animal has a letter on them, and mommy is helping me match them to the letters on my puzzle. You might think I really like the letter "z" since I have three zebras on the puzzle, but "p" is still my favorite. Thanks Opa and Oma for all the animals! You can also see the band-aid on my leg that shows where I bravely got a flu shot so I won't get sick! It only hurt a little bit. Mommy and Daddy got a shot too a few weeks ago, but they had it done in the arm. Elijah is still too little.
I can read
Tonight we went out to eat so mommy didn't have to cook. The restaurant had lots of stuff on the wall which kept me busy. My new thing is identifying letters. (My favorite is the letter "P".) There was a stop sign on the wall at the restaurant. I named each letter then daddy told me it said "stop." I repeated it (complete with hand gesture) and then said it again later when daddy asked me what it said. I think maybe over Christmas break I will have my aunt Jenny (who is a teacher) teach me how to read. At dinner I also ate some lemon, without making a face, and also cuddled with daddy. I like to pull him in for a smooch every now and then. On the way home we saw some cool Christmas lights. I really like lights. I say; "see more lights!!!" I like the moon too, I say over and over "see moon."
